The Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) hosted a run for the cause of underprivileged children. It was a zero-waste event that hosted a stall by Eat Raja, one of ‘India’s first zero-waste juice bars’. Suffice it to say that Eat Raja is definitely one of Bangalore’s first zero-waste juice bars, and a laudable enterprise by former radio jockey Anand Raj that should be adopted all over the nation for a clean and green environment. If you were not at the event, you could still visit Eat Raja’s stall in Malleswaram on 14th Cross, Sampige Road.

The pictures say it all. Areca nut plates replaced plastic, and the juice was served in watermelon shells, and reusable HDPE bags instead of plastic bin liners, made the run, a zero-waste event last Sunday.

Organised by the IIMB Alumni in association with the management of students of IIMB, the run was designed for all ages. If there was a 3K Majja (fun) run for families and children, there was a 5K timed run for enthusiastic joggers, while the 10K and 10M timed runs were meant for amateurs, professionals and stalwarts. Importantly, the 10M or 10 miles was a new format introduced this year. The run was to support lesser privileged kids, critically-ill and disabled children. For more details, you can visit here
