Restaurant booked for defacing public space, and other crime stories

The Indiranagar police have booked a restaurant for violating the Karnataka Open Place Disfigurement Act, 1951 and 1981. The action took place on March 7 at around 4.45pm on 100 Feet Road footpath, in front of Kebab Theory restaurant.

The cops saw 6×4 feet flex promotional materials placed on the footpath without any permission from the relevant authorities. Therefore, the police booked a case against the restaurant manager and the owner of Kebab Theory for spoiling the beauty of the city. Interestingly, the BBMP can fine the establishment for using the banned flex banners as well, and this is usually the case. That the cops jumped in with a different act to book the restaurant is a surprise, though not illegal in any way.

Drug user arrested
In another crime news in Indiranagar, 25-year-old Sarvesh was arrested for indulging in drugs. He was allegedly caught behaving strangely and embarassing the public at around 12pm near the cemetery compound in Laxmipuram on January 27. Upon a medical examination, it was found that this resident of Murphy Town was under the influence of narcotics.

Food delivery boy loses his vehicle on the job
A Honda Activa was stolen from Double Road, in front of I Play I Learn School on March 3. What’s shocking is that this is not the usual overnight theft of two-wheelers that is quite common in the city. Denzo Food delivery boy Jayant Kumar (26) had parked his scooter at 2pm on March 5 to deliver a few orders in the area, but found his vehicle missing when he returned at 2.30pm.

In another theft on March 2, S Shrijith parked his KTM Duke 200 bike inside the house compound on 13th Cross, 4th Main in HAL 2nd stage at around 11.45pm. At 6am when he woke up, the vehicle was nowhere to be seen.

Laptop & mobile phone go missing for keeping the door unlocked
Thirty-two-year-old Manikandan S was residing with his roomie in a building in Appareddy Palya. On February 25, at around 6.45am, Manikandan’s roomie Rajesh leaves the door ajar and goes out to work. In the interim, someone has entered the house and stolen a Lenovo laptop, a Vivo smartphone, a laptop bag and his office ID. The theft occurred between 7am and 8.30am while Manikandan was asleep.
