BMTC volvo buses clogging roads due to long wait times; are bus hubs a solution for that?

This scene is at Ecospace in Bellandur. Residents complain that volvo buses don’t stop at the bus shelter, and instead wait here for a long time, and causing traffic jams by narrowing the road width. Tweeting Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC), the civic authorities and the Department of Urban Land Transport (DULT), the residents want them to seriously consider setting up a mini bus hub at Ecospace as the buses are lining up and waiting for more passengers to make their service more economical!

One resident agreed by saying that large tech parks like Ecospace should have had proper bus bays. “BMTC not stopping at stops is an ongoing pain that everyone but BMTC gets,” said Anjali S. “Whitefield Rising is
struggling for five years with multiple BMTC MDs, Sarathy etc. Now again trying through @NSNandiesha @BMTC_BENGALURU Chairman.”

Pravir said that there are “too many AC Vajras with exorbitant fares on the stretch. Crew, seeking incentives, keeps wasting precious fuel and causing jam. More non-AC buses needed.” Yogeesh Prabhuswamy agrees: “The ordinary buses needs to be increased, they’re more punctual, safe and comfortable even to stand (except 2+3 seaters) and economical too.”

Pradeep echoes the sentiment by adding, “Volvo buses stop atleast for five minutes. Non-AC buses don’t stop for longer duration here.” Raghuraman LN alleged, “Revenue target set for conductors is root cause.”

BMTC responded to all these suggestions and allegations by simply tweeting that “We will direct the concerned authority of central zone to instruct all the Volvo crews in this regard.”
