A school bus going the wrong way was caught on camera in Bellandur today, inviting wrath from netizens all over. Not only do they want this the driver punished to set an example, but they also want the traffic cops to take effective measures on errant vehicle users to ensure that this does not happen anywhere in the city.

While Anjali Saini caught the offender of St. Peters School on camera using the wrong lane, and tweeting to the city traffic police, other residents like Vivek Todur are saying that “most school bus drivers do this routinely” and have asked the cops to “come up with strict action plan for school bus, as so many kids life will be at risk.”

Sachin Razdan says that wrong side traffic is the “biggest menace in Bangalore, especially Whitefield. Whitefield traffic is helpless and hardly seen anywhere.” Justin George says “every traffic rule has become a joke. Traffic lights, one way, bus lane. The government shouldn’t have reduced the fine amount in the first place. People need to be disciplined.”

Ravi Garg was sarcastic after watching the video by saying, “The school bus driver is actually educating the children on driving practices and etiquette. Preparing them for when they grow and take up driving for themselves. And here you are, objecting to voluntary, selfless social service.”

Vasi Reddy cut to the chase by stating that “school buses should be fined 10 times more fine for risking the kids and setting a bad, live example for kids.”

Ravi Garg hit the nail on the head by blaming the mindset of the drivers. “Law enforcement and all that is fine. But non-compliance with it is a power aphrodisiac. Hence, not many who give a tuppenny damn to the law! As for cops. They are understaffed, ill motivated and over burdened with VIP duties.”

The school managements have to reign in these drivers, and the cops have to make sure of that.
